Our Story

Brandywine Staging began in 2007 when founder Kathy Kosciewicz saw well-known real estate guru Barbara Corchran appear on a television show. Barbara spoke passionately on the importance of Home Staging.  Her remarks  were so compelling Kathy knew immediately she wanted to be part of this important industry to help real estate agents sell their properties.

Kathy had been interested in interior design for many years.  But there was something about the methodical, scientific approach to home staging that appealed to her.

In July, 2007, Kathy shared her vision with Shelley Walker, who had many of the same interests and an extensive sales and marketing background.  They partnered in July 2007 and created Brandywine Staging.

After undergoing training, Kathy and Shelley were certified as Accredited Staging Professionals.  Brandywine Staging's first professional job was pro bono for a neighbor.  Their house had been on the market for several months  and wasn't getting much interest.

Kathy and Shelley employed the techniques they learned in training and the house sold almost immediately.  That early success led to word-of-mouth buzz among local Realtors -- home staging works! Overnight, Brandywine Staging was the go-to home staging resource for Realtors in Garnet Valley, Glen Mills, West Chester, Media, Exton, Chadds Ford, Wilmington, and beyond.

Shortly after the launch of Brandywine Staging, Shelley and her family relocated to Charlotte, NC and Shelley started a new staging company.  Kathy and Shelley continue to collaborate on various projects, sharing insights and experiences that benefit their clients.

Brandywine Staging has grown dramatically since its modest launch. In 2014, Kathy was asked to develop a CE credit staging program and she personally trained over 1000 Real Estate Agents on the value of home staging to sell their properties.  The company maintains relationships with hundreds of Realtors and has staged over 2,500 homes in the region.
